WashXpress is a family run laundry & ironing business, established in January 2014 by Marie Perry to meet the growing demand for a collection and delivery service for laundry and ironing across Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire. Operating from a specially adapted unit near Gamlingay. The unit is equipped with the very latest laundry and ironing equipment. The business has grown significantly since it opened in January 2014, now operating with three collection and delivery vehicles and eight employees, it illustrates the success of the business and the great service WashXpress provide.
Marie Perry
Owner/Director
With over 10 years experience within the laundry and dry cleaning industry. Previously employed by a national dry cleaning company as a Branch Manager running one of the busiest branches in the country. Marie is fully trained and experienced in garment care and is also a fully trained cleanologist.
Pete Handscombe
Owner/Director
Pete has worked in various senior managements roles for other companies before starting work full-time for WashXpress. He also possesses business management qualifications which have proved invaluable in the setting up and day to day running of the business.
Kaley Handscombe
Trainee Assistant Manager
Kaley joined the team in 2016 and is still in the early stages of her training. She is a fast learner and keen to learn all the different roles at WashXpress. Kaley was promoted to the position trainee assistant manager in 2019.
Gez Purbrick
Assistant Manager
Gez previously worked as one of our delivery drivers and has since been promoted to Assistant Manager to assist Pete and Marie in the day to day running of the unit, and the associated collection and delivery logistics. Gez also covers the delivery rounds when our usual drivers are on holiday.
Linda Perry
Laundry Operative & Presser
Linda is Marie’s Mum. Linda is our longest serving garment presser, and therefore has all the experience necessary to press garments to the very high standard we demand. You can be sure your clothes are in safe hands with Linda.
Kerry Longhurst
Laundry Operative & Presser
Kerry joined us in 2024 and has quickly become a irreplaceable member of the team. Kerry has a excellent attention to detail and delivers a high standard of ironing.
Carol Handscombe
Seamstress
Carol is Pete’s Mum. Carol has over 40 years of experience providing clothing alterations and repairs in the Sandy area. Now employed by WashXpress, Carol can use her extensive experience to ensure all alterations are carried out quickly and professionally to ensure your expectations are met.
Gary Goldsmith
Driver
Gary joined WashXpress in 2019. Having previously worked as a postman and parcel delivery courier Gary could not be more ideally suited to this position. He has lived locally for many years and therefore knows the area very well. Gary also possesses excellent customer service skills therefore ensuring our customers receive a first class service.
